Red Lanterns, Green Lanterns Combine in New Flipbook

In a double-sized, flipbook extravaganza DC has announced that Green Lantern #28 and Red Lanterns #28 will be combined during the month of February. In the aftermath of Lights Out, things are not going well for the Green Lantern Corps. As Hal Jordan struggles to keep the Corps afloat and the Red Lanterns begin their policing of Sector 2814, things get extremely difficult. The combination of Greens and Reds in a single book automatically translates to conflict, and a surprising new Red Lantern will emerge by issue’s end.

DC chose the flipbook format to get the issue “in as many readers’ hands as possible,” said Green Lantern scribe Robert Venditti. The forty-eight page book will sell at the cover price of $2.99 in the hopes that many readers will make the purchase. The flipbook, similar to Trillium #1 released in August, will feature two covers and contain both issues.

“This is one piece, but a very significant piece, of the aftermath of ‘Lights Out’,” Venditti said. “It’s going to impact not just the Lantern titles, but the entire DC Universe.”

For those curious about how it could impact the whole DC Universe, look no further than the solicitation for the issue. Despite the fact that neither Venditti nor Red Lanterns author Charles Soule commented on it, the cover undoubtedly features a familiar Kryptonian bathing in the bloods of Ysmault.
