According to The Hollywood Reporter, the oldest known surviving original Superman cover artwork has been sold for $286,800 by Heritage Auctions.
The cover is of Action Comics No. 15 that is dated August 1939 and at the time was sold for a dime. Fred Guardineer, was the artist who drew this cover and was known to be one of the head artists of the golden era.
