Our new Alfred Pennyworth, Jeremy Irons, talks to Absolute Radio about the Batman vs. Superman movie. It’s not clear if this Alfred will be much different than any we’ve seen before but Irons does mention that he’s “been watching Michael Caine closely,” but acknowledges Caine is “a bit different from him.”

He says he’s read a draft of a script but it is still being finished, talks about acting opposite from Ben Affleck, and more!

David Goyer, who also did the Dark Knight Trilogy, wrote the original Batman vs. Superman movie. And then Chris Terrio, the Oscar winner for his screenplay for Argo, was brought in to work on the script.

Irons mentions that the script still isn’t entirely finished and that “it will be just as much of a surprise to me as it is to you.” But no need to be alarmed. With Warner Bros. announcing the 10-month delay, they have some time now to make any tweaks and adjustments to deliver an even better story and all-around movie. Though it is surprising to hear that the script is still unfinished after about two months have passed since that announcement. Especially since there have also been rumors recently that the film is supposed to begin filming in April in Michigan.  But it may all be for the better. The delay gives production some breathing room to go with all the pressure to make this film worth the wait.

Batman vs. Superman

The untitled Batman vs. Superman movie is scheduled to go into production with a cast that includes Henry Cavill (Superman), Ben Affleck (Batman), Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman), Jesse Eisenberg (Lex Luthor), Amy Adams (Lois Lane), Lawrence Fishburne (Perry White), and Diane Lane (Martha Kent).

Stay tuned for more news and updates on the Man of Steel sequel!
