According to recent rumors, costumes for the Man of Steel sequel, also known as Batman vs Superman, may be revealed as early as this weekend.
Not only are the film’s stars (Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, and Gal Gadot) set to appear for filming in Detroit, but reportedly, costume designer Michael Wilkinson (‘300’ ‘American Hustle’), as well.
While not giving too much information about the costumes themselves, Wilkinson has dropped little tidbits about the costumes of Superman and Wonder Woman.
For the sequel, Superman’s costume has been “tweaked. The extent to which is unknown at this time.
For Wonder Woman’s silver screen debut, Wilkinson commented that “It’s important to get her right”. He’s also quoted as saying to themarysue that the Amazon Princess’s costume will be “relevant for today’s audience”.
But the info. on her costume doesn’t stop there. Wilkinson told Design and Trend “that her costume will be more “gladiator-like”.
And Mark Hughes, Fortune, retweeted back in March that:
“Yeah I’ve not heard much a/b WW’s suit but what I did hear — armored, sword, not a bathing suit — is good so far.”
On the topic of Batman’s suit, Jennifer Garner, wife of Ben Affleck ,dropped a bit of info as well in a recent interview with Collider.
“The suit is unbelievably cool. It looks like a total reinvention. It looks great.”
While there may not be much info on the suits right now, you can expect to see the costumes in full, when the ‘Man of Steel’ sequel to the 2013 summer blockbuster hits theaters on May 6th, 2016.
