Just hours ago USA Today released the first official photo of the Man of Steel in the highly anticipated “Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice.”

Superman

The release of this image comes about two months after Ben Affleck’s Batman costume was revealed, and as we can see from the picture above, expect a dark tone to this movie. Instead of the Man of Steel standing in front of his shimmering Metropolis, we see in the background the dark and gritty sky line of what could only be determined as Gotham City.

Superman as always looks super badass and his costume is very similar to the original in Man of Steel. There looks like little to no changes in the costume, but if there are hopefully they are easier to notice in future pictures.

Zack Snyder went on to say a couple things about what it’s like to build a superhero universe and his feelings towards the upcoming block buster:

“It’s not an un-fun job, I will say that.” As far as developing Henry Cavill as Superman the second time around Snyder said it’s a challenge, and “the fun of trying to figure out what to put in front of him that’s difficult. We’ve both created this guy and we can push him around a little bit,” he says. “The more time I spend with Henry, the more he’s Superman to me.”

When it comes to Batman though, Snyder admittedly said he was not in a rush to add on the Caped Crusader to the film. It ultimately made sense to him though to add a “weary, veteran” Batman to the film. “I was in no rush to put Batman in the movie,” Snyder says, “but on the other hand it seemed organic the way our story was unfolding to start to feather him in. It’s cooler to see a crusty old Batman beating the snot out of guys.”

Snyder also goes on to offer us a hint to the two heroes relationship, without giving too much away. “Suffice it to say there is a ‘v’ in between their names” in the movie title, Snyder says. He explains that having the “v” instead of “vs.is a way “to keep it from being a straight ‘versus’ movie, even in the most subtle way.”

From Snyder’s excitement for the film to this awesome picture, all we can do is try to remain calm and not claw our hair out due to the fact that movie won’t be released for another TWO years.
