What could have been. Did you know there almost was a Superman film directed by Tim Burton that starred Nicholas Cage as the Man of Steel? Back in 1997, after Burton was finished with Batman, he decided to take on Superman. You can see clips of the production in the new documentary film, The Death of Superman Lives: What Happened?  The clips show Cage fitted in a steel blue suit custom-made by three-time Oscar award winning costume designer, Colleen Atwood. Atwood now serves as costume designer for CBS’s upcoming Supergirl series which will premiere this Fall.
The documentary is set to be released on blu-ray/DVD and digitally on July 9th. Fans can learn more about it on the first day of San Diego Comic Con at booth #3915.
