The upcoming CW DC show Legends of Tomorrow will not only be getting Hawkgirl, played by actress Ciara Renéem, but Hawkman will also appear, played by Falk Hentschel. It has just been announced that Hentschel will be a series regular as Hawkman. His relationship with Hawkgirl will be inspired by the JSA and Hawkman stories of Geoff Johns.
The show’s executive producer, Phil Klemmer spoke with DC Legends TV where he confirmed Hawkman as a regular character:
“The way we’ve imagined them is that they’ve obviously been reincarnated through the ages together, but the fact that he remembers their previous lives and she doesn’t… it gives them very much like a Bogey and Bacall sort of [relationship]. Yeah. Exactly! They’re constantly fighting, and the fact that they’re destined to be in love is something that seems impossible to her.”
Hawkman, Hawkgirl and other heroes from Legends of Tomorrow will appear in the Arrow/Flash 2-part mid-season finale crossover. The show itself will debut in early 2016.
