Although there was plenty of excitement when Zack Snyder revealed the first look at Jason Momoa’s Aquaman, he certainly looked quite a bit different than the traditional comic book Aquaman. In a recent interview, however, Momoa states that we might be seeing “some bit of orange and green” in his uniform. Momoa also reports that there will be “respect to prior work” as well as elements that are new and different.
Jason Momoa also hinted that Aquaman would be “meaner now” and “upset” regarding the state of the Earth’s oceans. “Look at what has been done to our oceans. That’s his world that has been polluted,” Momoa stated.
Earlier this month it was confirmed that we should get our first look at Jason Momoa’s Aquaman in Batman Vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice, and Momoa revealed that there won’t be a lot of jokes coming from his Aquaman. Looks like we are starting to get a pretty good picture of how Momoa’s new take on Aquaman will and won’t conform to traditional comic lore. Jason Momoa will also portray Aquaman in Justice League and in Aquaman.
Batman Vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice hits theaters in theaters March 25, 2016. Justice League will follow suit November 17, 2017 and Aquaman on July 27, 2018.
