Matt Letcher Reprises Role as Eobard Thawne on The Flash

It’s been a while since we’ve seen the actual Reverse-Flash on The Flash, even though the Harrison Wells of Earth-2 recently donned the yellow costume in an attempt to trick Grodd. Now, Matt Letscher will officially be reprising his role as the true Reverse-Flash, Eobard Thawne.

Letscher is set to make his grand return in the eleventh episode of season two, titled “The Reverse-Flash Returns”, and since Earth-1’s Eobard Thawne was erased from existence due to Eddie’s great sacrifice, it is highly possibly that this version of the character will hail from Earth-2, although for now this is only speculation.

Since the Eobard Thawne of Earth-1 spent the majority of his screen time disguised as Harrison Wells in an effort to trick Barry, the return of Letscher and the current inclusion of Harrison Wells in the series hints that this time, it will be Thawne’s real face on display instead of another complex disguise.

Episode writer Todd Helbing told EW, “His impossible return to Central City puts a member of the S.T.A.R. Labs team in unexpected danger, forcing Barry to make a life-changing decision.”

The Flash comes back to TV on Tuesday, January 19th at 8 p.m. ET, on The CW.
