Veteran actor and Oscar-winner J.K. Simmons is bringing out the big guns for Zack Snyder’s Justice League movie. The 61-year-old actor is currently filming the highly anticipated Warner Bros. movie this month alongside his co-stars Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Jason Momoa, and Gal Gadot, who are a fraction of his age.
As revealed by U.S. Marine/actor/celebrity fitness trainer Aaron Williamson (via Batman-News), Simmons has apparently been getting ripped for the role of Commissioner Gordon. Now, that’s not a role that’s traditionally been about highlighting the physique or physical prowess of the character, especially when he’s surrounded by the likes of Batman, Superman, Aquaman, and Wonder Woman, but you can’t question Simmons’ commitment to the role. Perhaps Commissioner Gordon will have a bigger role in taking out the scum of Gotham in this universe.
In related news, Simmons will be donning Gordon’s signature mustache, which was on display when the actor stepped out for the 2016 LA Greek Film Festival over the weekend. Check out the insanely ripped and slightly terrifying new vision that is Simmons’ Commissioner Gordon below:
Justice League is currently filming and is scheduled to hit theaters on November 17, 2017.
