Ben Affleck just revealed the title for his upcoming Batman solo movie during an interview for his new movie The Accountant. The film is to be simply titled The Batman. Affleck made very clear that the title is still only provisional and could still be changed, but for the time being, as he succinctly said:

“that’s what we’re going with.”

Affleck’s solo film is potentially set to release only a year and a half from now, in the year 2018, which is substantially sooner than the year 2019 which was originally rumoured. Speaking of rumours, The Batman is no stranger to them, with key famous Batman story arcs being suspected of making up the plot for the movie, such as Under the Red Hood and Hush. However, with Joe Manganiello having been officially cast as Deathstroke for the movie, these theories seem unlikely.

Affleck seemed confident about the script and production work being done in the interview, certainly a reassuring sign for fans who enjoyed Affleck’s Batman portrayal in Batman -v- Superman: Dawn of Justice and in Suicide Squad.
