Summary
Batman has infiltrated Santa Prisca Prison on the hunt for Bane! Attempting to capture the Psycho Pirate, currently in Bane’s custody, Batman breaks into one of the most dangerous places on Earth! But Batman is not alone. It seems that Batman has backup — and it’s not the Justice League!

Positives
Batman #10 gives us a great look between the rivalry between Batman and Bane, and Tom King doesn’t disappoint. At the very start we’re given an explosive dog fight between Batman and the Santa Priscan military. And once Batman is shot down, it’s all about infiltration of the prison. Mikel Janin’s attention to detail in his art really captures the harshness of Batman’s mission. Fighting hordes of soldiers, Batman encounters Bane, however things go south. King does a great job in deceiving us about Batman’s capture and the reveal in the end is a trip!

Negatives
My only real complaint about the book is the dialogue of Catwoman throughout the book. In the first few pages of the book the dialogue of Catwoman in Batman’s story served as a opposite telling of Bruce’s so it was pretty good. However as the book wears on, it gets pretty lost in the telling. We only see Selina in the very end, so I’m kinda curious as to how she fared crossing the island and encountering Bane’s men. Hopefully King addresses this in the next book.

Verdict
Batman #10 is a good read! It’s always good to see Batman and Bane, perhaps one of the most dangerous rivalries in comics, go at it! There’s also a new surprise about Bane and his addiction to Venom that I hope King explores more in the future.
