Summary

The showdown is finally here! Batman vs Bane in Santa Prisca! An almost beaten Batman is all that stands in the way of Bane and his heinous plans! But Batman always has a plan, and this plan is totally insane!

Positives

This book was a great! Bane’s addiction to Venom has gotten out of hand. Basically Bane is using the powers of the Psycho Pirate to be rid of his addiction. The encounter of Batman and Catwoman makes things worse for Bane as well. Janin gives great detail to every page and the detail is consistent throughout the book. Every page was basically action — and that’s pretty damn good.

Negatives

I might be greedy by saying so but I really wanted the fight with Bane to be a little longer, especially when Catwoman gets into the mix! The chemistry between Bruce and Selina is still as strong as ever. The two stand on virtually opposite ends of justice and Batman even acknowledged the attraction, but it will never work — not because of her, but because of who Batman is, and that the mission will always come first.

Verdict

Batman #13 is an entertaining read but I definitely suggest reading the previous issues to get the entire story. Anytime there’s an encounter between Batman and Bane I expect awesomeness! This issue gave me just that.
