Matt Reeves Batman FIlm DC Comics NewsWith the recent news that Ben Affleck would no longer direct The Batman, the replacement has been found and Matt Reeves will be at the helm. Matt Reeves has a decent sized resume of solid films that he has directed, some of his better known projects are Cloverfield and War for the Planet of the Apes (in Pre Production).

Ben Affleck had originally aired concerns about directing and starring in the highly anticipated film, having to balance differences between himself and Warner Bros he preferred to concentrate solely on the role of Batman / Bruce Wayne.

“There are certain characters who hold a special place in the hearts of millions,” Affleck said at the time. “Performing this role demands focus, passion and the very best performance I can give. It has become clear that I cannot do both jobs to the level they require. Together with the studio, I have decided to find a partner in a director who will collaborate with me on this massive film. I am still in this, and we are making it, but we are currently looking for a director. I remain extremely committed to this project, and look forward to bringing this to life for fans around the world.”

Ben Affleck will remain Executive Producer of the film, star as Wayne / Batman and now with Reeves directing, and Chris Terrio handing in an updated script, we should be in for a great new Batman film!
