SPOILER: A Legendary Debut For Felicity Smoak

As fans of The CW show DC’s Legends of Tomorrow already know, the Legion of Doom has control of the Spear of Destiny as of this week’s show and, having committed to its use in altering reality to their very whim, they’ve put our heroes in a tight spot.

Previews for next week’s episode, titled, appropriately enough, “Doomworld,” makes it appear as if the Legends have been scattered, each to a new status quo. But, as fans of the “Arrowverse” also know, the CW shows share an interlocking continuity, and if Barry Allen creating an alternate timeline on The Flash can change the gender of John Diggle’s child on Arrow, then surely the Legion remaking the very fabric of the cosmos will engender its own set of ripples across time and space.

Today on his Twitter account,  Arrow and Legends show-runner Marc Guggenheim revealed one of those ripples — it seems Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett Rickards) will appear in super-heroic costume all her own. What will her code name be? Will she use the Overwatch name she now employs as the back ops member of Team Arrow? Will she be The Huntress of Doomworld? Or maybe, given the hooded purple costume, might she crack heads as Spoiler? What other potential code names might she use? And will she be fighting on the side of good, or evil?

And, perhaps the most important question — will this change be confined to Legends, or does this particular time-ripple portend lasting reverberations on Arrow?

We’ll have to tune in to find out, and, with season finales in the offing, we may not learn the answer until next fall!
