In an effort to engage new and existing fans, DC Entertainment is launcing a deeply-immersive interactive initiative designed to inspire fans of the World’s Greatest Super-Heroes to become heros in their own right.

Created in partnership with Warner Bros. Consumer Products (WBCP), the inaugural DC Kids Super-Hero Month kicked off March 31 on the DC Kids YouTube channel and will last the entire month of April there, as well as on DCKids.com, as well as on the DC Super-Hero Girls website, social channels, app, and YouTube channel, which will serving as “DC Kids Super Hero Month headquarters.”

According to a press release, weekly “Super Hero Training Camp” challenges, games, and other digital activities central to the event are “designed to teach fans of all ages what it means to be a DC Super-Hero.

“With weekly challenges inspired by the iconic DC characters, training will highlight various qualities such as leadership, strength, kindness, creativity, friendship and more.”

These initiatives will be supported by merchandising partners such as Mattel, The LEGO Group, Rubie’s Costumes, and more, as well as in-store and online support at various retailers, including Target, Toys’R’Us, Walmart and Amazon, the release says.

Here’s the launch video:

All-new episodes of the DC Kids YouTube channel will include themed content such as “Acts of Wonder,” “Call for Creativity,” “Stellar Support,” and “Super Smarts.”

DCKids.com and DC Kids YouTube Channel will also support the initiative with a “DC Kids Super Hero Month take-over” featuring printable activities and three new games from Teen Titans Go! and Justice League Action. Fans can also participate on the Justice League Action and Teen Titans Go! social channels “by sharing how they train to be a DC Kids Super Hero” using the hashtags #DCKidsSuperHeroMonth and #HeroesInTraining.

The April event also will see a DC Kids Super Hero Month sweepstakes, featured on DCComics.com and promoted on the DC Kids Facebook page, as well as on Instagram and Twitter for DC and WBCP. Fans will have a chance to be the grand prize winner of a DC Super Hero Girls, Teen Titans Go! and Justice League Action product package. Three runner-up prizes also will be awarded, each with one of the DC Super Hero Girls, Teen Titans Go! or Justice League Action themed packages.

hmmmmm . . .

It seems about the only thing missing from this effort to get kids interested in DC super-heroes is actual comic books. Maybe there’s a reason kids don’t read comic books anymore?
