Summary

In this issue, we see the group of friends trying to uncover yet another mystery and save their friend Colton from expulsion. This issue keeps readers on the edge of their seats with multiple exciting scenes going on at once. Last issue, Colton walked in on Mr. Scarlet. He appeared to be pinpointing a secret location on a map. Colton decided to take the map and run, but he was unlucky when he collided with none other than the Headmaster himself.

Luckily, Pomeline’s mother arranged to have a hearing for Colton’s actions, believing he had been set up. Just as they are about to reveal the map during the hearing, they realize it is missing. In this issue, we see Pomeline and Tristian pinpointing the location on the map. Little do these two know, they are being followed.

Once they reach the exact location on the map, they find themselves standing on a mysterious symbol. In some of the work Pomeline stole from Eric, she finds transcriptions of the symbol. One note said, “The key is on the symbol.”

Pomeline discovers that a line on the symbol can be lifted, and she finds what appears to be a slot for a key. Before they can put the pieces together, the stalker reveals himself.

At the very end of the story, we see him push Tristian over the edge of the room they’re in. It is believed that will be the last we’ll see of Tristian. The next issue is titled “Revenge,” so we can look forward to seeing our scholars retaliate against the Symbolist’s harsh attack.

Positives

In my opinion, this was the most exciting issue thus far. We get to see multiple events going on at once. The events corresponded with each other perfectly, causing everyone to end up in the same place by the end. This issue leaves room for many questions. I can’t wait to see how they will get their revenge in the next issue.

Negatives

The death of Tristian seemed quite unnecessary, although it does assist in building up for the next issue. I also would have preferred it if The Symbolist’s appearance was a little less predictable.

Verdict

Overall, this issue was great. The writers all did very well. The art by Adam Archer and MSASSYK was also very intricate, it was definitely something to appreciate. We’ve gotten just enough information to know which questions will be answered in the next issue. It is definitely something to look forward to.
