It’s a little-known but well-established fact that in the Atlantean language, “Atlanna” means “Martha.”

Okay, that’s not true. But wouldn’t it be awesome if it was!!

Anticipation for November’s big Justice League feature film is such that fans are not the only ones speculating about its content and going public with their personal wish lists of things it should include. According to comicbook.com reporter “Kofi Outlaw,” Diane Lane, who played Superman’s mom, Martha Kent, in the Man of Steel and Batman v. Superman movies, recently opined that she’d most like to share a super-heroic scene with Nicole Kidman, recently confirmed as cast to play Arthur Curry’s mother Queen Atlanna, in the upcoming Aquaman movie.

I want a scene with Nicole, that’s what I really want,” Outlaw quotes Lane saying.

Yeah, Diane, that what we all want . . .  “BOMM-chicka-wah-WAAAAaaaaa.”

Both Lane and Kidman are in mommy roles thanks in part to the magic of movies. Lane, 52, is just 18 years older than Superman actor Henry Cavill, 34. In the comics, and even in the various film adaptations, Martha in generally depicted as significantly older than 18 when an errant rocket from Krypton runs her and Jonathan Kent off a Smallville cowpath. Kindman, meanwhile, at 49, has just 12 years on Aquaman star Jason Mamoa, 37. If, in fact, Atlanna was just 12 years old when she wandered up out or the ocean and into the arms of Thomas Curry, that’s one lonely lighthouse keeper who’s got some ‘splainin’ to do.

The odds of a Martha/Atlanna love-in happening in Justice League seems remote. After all, with principal photography on the film having reportedly wrapped in London last fall, you’d think Lane would know by now if her wish was in the cards. As she is said to have concluded, “Perhaps in another [sequel].

So, what sequel might we look forward to for Martha meets Atlanna? Here’s what we know so far about the upcoming DC Cinematic Universe film schedule:

• June 2, 2017 — WONDER WOMAN (Likely no Martha, but it’s believed one Mother Box is kept by the Amazons, and another by the Atlanteans, meaning a post-credits scene with Atlanna, leading into the Justice League movie, would not be unlikely)

• November 17, 2017 — JUSTICE LEAGUE (IMDB.com lists Lane and Amber Heard’s Mera in the cast, but no Atlanna)

• March 16, 2018 — THE FLASH (starring Ezra Miller, but DenOfGeeks.com reports the script is in rewrites and no director is attached, so making this date seems doubtful)

• July 27, 2018 — an open date previously reserved for Aquaman, which had its release pushed back. Personally, I doubt Flash will make even this date. And while Warner Bros. and DC might like to fast track Joss Whedon’s Batgirl movie, I don’t think any big-budget flick can make this date from a standing start in April 2017.

• December 21, 2018 — AQUAMAN. (Sort of hard to see how director James Wan could shoehorn in Martha, but maybe a post credits scene?)

• April 5, 2019 — SHAZAM. (This has a writer attached, and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson set to star as Black Adam, but no director as of yet. With a solo BLACK ADAM film already in development, I’m betting this date goes to that and we get SHAZAM as the sequel)

• June 14, 2019 — a date originally reserved for JUSTICE LEAGUE 2. Then there was talk it might go to Ben Affleck’s solo movie, The Batman. Now odds-makers are citing this as the Suicide Squad follow-up, GOTHAM CITY SIRENS, starring Margot Robie’s Harley Quinn alongside Catwoman and Poison Ivy, with David Ayer set to direct.

• November 1, 2019 — reserved date, originally thought to be for MAN OF STEEL 2, which was on, then off, and is now back on again in active pre-production. But with 2019 being the 80th anniversary of Batman’s first appearance in the comics, this could be a landing spot for THE BATMAN.

• April 3, 2020 — CYBORG (starring Ray Fisher as the once-upon-a-time Titan).

• July 4, 2020 — GREEN LANTERN CORPS (We’ll know for sure this is happening should we get a Hal Jordan post-credits scene in Justice League).

• NIGHTWING — no release date announced, but rumored for 2019. The movie has LEGO BATMAN  director Chris McKay at the helm, with a script in the works by Bill Dubuque, author of the Affleck thriller, THE  ACCOUNTANT.

• BATGIRL — also rumored for 2019, with Joss Whedon confirmed to write, direct and produce.

• SUICIDE SQUAD 2 — no release date, but said to be a lock to happen. Adam Cozan, who wrote THE LEGEND OF TARZAN, is said to be working on a script.

• BOOSTER GOLD — Reportedly in the works from Greg Berlanti, executive producer to The CW shows Arrow and The Flash. Zack Stenz, who wrote THOR, and X-MEN: APOCALYSE is working on the script.

Out of all of those, the Booster Gold movie, oddly enough, but plausible given the character’s penchant for hopping hypertime realities, might actually be out best shot at seeing Lane’s Martha Kent and Kidman’s Queen Atlanna on screen together.

Hopefully, THEY KISS!
