DC Entertainment Declares ‘Wonder Woman’ Day on June 3rd

DC Entertainment is taking Wonder Woman to the next level, by officially declaring June 3rd “Wonder Woman Day”. “Wonder Woman Day” coincides perfectly during the opening weekend of this summer’s most highly anticipated film, Wonder Woman.  The celebration will honor the 75-year legacy of the Amazon Princess with wondrous festivities across the entire world.

Comic retailers around the world will join the celebration with a little something for everyone to enjoy. Copies of two special edition issues will be distributed to fans celebrating this amazing event. Look for WONDER WOMAN DAY SPECIAL EDITION #1 reprints WONDER WOMAN #1 by bestselling writer Greg Rucka and artist Liam Sharp, as well as DC SUPER HERO GIRLS WONDER WOMAN DAY SPECIAL EDITION #1 which features a chapter from the upcoming DC SUPER HERO GIRLS VOL. 3: SUMMER OLYMPUS, written by Shea Fontana with art by Yancey Labat.

But the fun doesn’t stop just with comicbook retailers. DC has teamed up with a wide array of retail partners including, Barnes & Noble, Books-A-Million, Walmart, Costco and Amazon for exclusive in-store and digital promotions to create the ultimate “Wonder Woman Day” experience. Cross-divisional activations will also include Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and Warner Bros. Consumer Products, alongside key partners including Six Flags Theme Parks, to further spotlight the groundbreaking DC Super Hero.

Fans can download the official “Wonder Woman Day” activity kit, which includes comic book activity sheets, coloring pages, trivia, and games. Readers are also able to take advantage of great discounts on digital comics at readdcentertainment.com and in the DC Comics app, where 100 digital comics and eBooks will be on sale beginning May 30th.

Look for amazing writers and artists such as Greg Rucka, Phil Jimenez, Cliff Chiang, Shea Fontana, Marc Andreyko, and Cat Staggs to commemorate this fantastic event by participating in special events.
