This fall, DC Entertainment and Dark Horse comics will be bringing fans an epic crossover event that will feature DC’s very own Wonder Woman in an original story featuring none other than the Dark Horse’s iconic Cimmerian, Conan the Barbarian.
A Great Team at The Helm
Fan favorite writer Gail Simone will be penning this story while Aaron Lopresti will be tasked with handling the artwork.
When asked about working on the title, Simone appeared very excited:
“I love crossovers, I love Wonder Woman, and being able to bring the
undisputed greatest warriors of the DCU and Robert E. Howard’s Hyborian
Age together for the very first time is a dream come true,”
When being asked about being reunited with Aaron Lopresti, she continued:
“A major draw is getting to reunite with the great Aaron
Lopresti, whose very favorite things to draw are Wonder Woman and
barbarians. Its blades and bracelets, wizards and wonder and I couldn’t
be more delighted.”
Gladiators Will Meet
The story takes place as Conan the Barbarian arrives on a mysterious island where he is introduced to the island’s most fearsome fighter – Wonder Woman. After a series of unfortunate events, both fighters end up as captives of the island slave-master named Dellos where they are then confronted by an unknown dark magic that threatens them both. It seems as though the only way for Wonder Woman and Conan to survive will be to team up and take on this mysterious force. But the question remains: Who can opposed two of comics most iconic characters? Fans will just have to wait and see.
A New Legend Created
DC’s Editor-in-Chief Bob Harras had this to day about the crossover:
“Uniting the greatest characters of the DC Universe with some of the
most famous and notable characters in pop culture is at the core of the
most memorable crossovers we’ve ever done,”
“Gail and Aaron’s series will surely
create a new legend for fans and readers to talk about for years to
come.”
