Renowned Italian artist Enrico Marini will be lending his talents to DC Entertainment for an upcoming two-part graphic novel series this November entitled Batman: The Dark Prince Charming. Judging from some of the preview images, this book looks to be visually impressive as well as delivering a great story that will offer fans a break from the ongoing Rebirth books

The graphic novel format for this book should lend itself to a more long form and cinematic experience for readers that have come to expect nothing less from great Batman storytellers. Some of the all-time greatest stories in comic book history, let alone in the Batman universe, have come as stand alone graphic novels set apart from normal continuity that really allow for readers to dive in and become engrossed in the story.

Coupled along with visually striking visuals from Marini, this book looks to be one of the late year books that Batman and comic fans should keep their eye on. Marini will be taking the helm of a mainstream superhero book for the first time but DC has stated that they are very excited to have him working on the iconic character. DC had this to say:

Marini is well known within the European comic book market, and is acclaimed for his flamboyant art style and cinematic approach to storytelling. His work includes the best-selling French-language comics Le Scorpion, Eagles of Rome and Gipsy. However, we haven’t seen him tackle a mainstream super hero like the Dark Knight prior to now…

Acclaimed European comics master Enrico Marini makes his American comics debut with an original, two-part graphic novel starring the Dark Knight! What secret connection do both Batman and The Joker share with a strange and mysterious young girl? After she’s kidnapped by The Joker, Batman must plunge deep into the underworld of Gotham City and race against time to find out where she’s being held. The stakes are high, and for Batman, it’s personal!

A beautiful story of Batman and Joker set in the Gotham underworld? What more could fans ask for? You can see more images from the novel here.

Batman: The Dark Prince Charming arrives November 1st, 2017.
