The official synopsis for Justice League focuses on Affleck’s Batman having renewed his faith in humanity following Superman’s sacrifice in last year’s film. In order to protect the planet from an impending invasion, Batman gathers information (some of which he obtained from Viola Davis’ Amanda Waller) and tracks down people he believes can help him defend the human race. So far, most of the marketing has focused on Batman — and rightfully so, considering that he’s been Warner Bros.’ most profitable superhero — but that may no longer be the case.Yesterday, images surfaced showcasing Mattel’s newest figure for Amber Heard’s Mera, and Heroic Hollywood points out that the back of the toy box features a new synopsis for Snyder’s Justice League, one that seems to highlight Wonder Woman above all the other heroes.

Once again, Wonder Woman must demonstrate her ability as a fierce warrior. Facing a great enemy, she and Batman join forces to recruit a group of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. Having formed an unprecedented League of heroes, they set out to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.

This is definitely understandable for the studio to capitalize on Wonder Woman’s success to align with the fact that her movie is the most recent movie from the DC Extended Universe, as well as its most successful.

Justice League hits theaters on November 17, 2017.
