In another piece of casting news, one of the most popular Teen Titans characters from both television and the comic books, the role of Beast Boy, has been filled by Ryan Potter of Big Hero 6 fame. He voices the character of Hiro Hamada in both the animated movie and the upcoming television series. To those uninitiated with the world of Teen Titans and to the origins of Beast By, below is some background information:

As a child, Garfield “Gar” Logan contracted the lethal disease, Sakutia, while on an African expedition with his geneticist parents. Treated with an experimental drug, Gar survived, but not without developing some bizarre side effects. Along with skin and hair turning permanently green, the wisecracking, fun-loving Beast Boy is able to reshape himself into any animal of any size he can imagine.”

The cast looks to be very well rounded, with both veteran and newcomer actors, and even more diversity than most TV shows on air now. Potter’s talents will definitely bring a much needed diverse voice in this burgeoning landscape of streaming television.

Titans is slated to premiere alongside Young Justice season 3 in 2018 on DC’s upcoming streaming service.
