Zack Snyder Signs Online Petition For A Justice League Director’s Cut

By now, many of the DC faithful have no doubt watched Justice League (some more than once) and have left theaters perhaps feeling like something was missing. In fact, for those of us that have been watching trailer after trailer leading up to the premiere, we noticed that there is a lot of footage left out of the theatrical cut. Because of that, some dedicated fans have already started an online petition for a director’s cut to be released and they have one key petitioner in the form of Zack Snyder himself!

Many times when a movie is released in theaters, they are under pressure by a lot key players (i.e. theater owners, studio heads) to cut the run time of the movie in order to be able to show the movie multiple times and thus generate more box office revenue. The ideal time for a movie would generally run between 90 minutes to 120 minutes (2 hours) and Justice League runs just under that two hour marker.

Unfortunately, when a movie is cut to that length, a lot of footage ends up stuck in the editing room and the story is left feeling incomplete. Many different outlets have reported that Zack Snyder’s cut of the film is rumored to be at least 3 hours long. These rumors have led to fans petition for a release of a director’s cut of the film in which Snyder signed the petition as “quietly” as possible. You can see the image for yourself here:

Does this mean that Snyder wants a director’s cut? We’re not sure but we do know that Justice League has a lot more footage than what we’ve seen these past few weekends. It’s possible that a director’s cut could be released in the future considering Aquaman is the only major DC release next year but that’s only speculation at this point. Here’s hoping we get a Justice League complete soon!
