The undead of iZOMBIE are among the shows confirmed to return this midseason, and The CW has got the dates!

Fans of The CW network’s hit comedy-drama iZombie starring Rose McIver can settle in and put down the pitchforks — the show’s Midseason Premiere date has been confirmed. The much-loved series based on the hit graphic novel series from Vertigo will be coming back for Season 4 on Monday, February 26 @ 9pm. At this year’s Television Critics Association (TCA) winter press tour much of the network’s line-up was being debated, including the fate of the superhero series.

Many of the midseason shows will be experiencing several shifts and though still on the calendar, some favorites will be returning much later than anticipated including The 100 and The Vampire Diaries spin-offs The Originals which will be back in April. Though their return dates in the fall have not yet been announced, The CW which has become the home of the DC TV Extended Universe, has suggested that all its superhero series will be renewed.

The addition of the latest DC adaptation Black Lightning has impacted several returning show’s this winter. The network wanted to make some room for its newest rising star, and also made several concessions to meet production schedules on Supergirl this season, which will be alternating new episodes every other week with DC’s Legends of Tomorrow. Normally these very dramatic shift in schedules do not bode well for television series returning in the fall.

Among the series that has taken the biggest hit is the reboot of the primetime soap opera Dynasty which has been struggling in the ratings and has been moved to Friday nights. With Black Lightning and iZombie on the schedule for winter season runs, when these series wrap up they’ll make some room for The 100 and The Originals in its final season. All the juggling has left the Riverdale spin-off The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina with no other choice but to go with Netflix!

Rumors are also circulating that The CW is making way for yet another superhero franchise in the fall, but there is no word on whether that show will be produced by Berlanti Productions as part of the growing Arrowverse or be something entirely original. With the Legion of Superheroes making their debut on Supergirl there has been speculation that the future may be looking bright for the team of legionnaires on The CW.
