Chris McKay, who is directing Nightwing, has offered up an update on his movie.

Nightwing script expected very soon,” McKay said on Twitter. “Working on rip-o-matic to show studio. This is going to be a LONG process. So don’t expect casting news any time soon. We are taking our time. Expect big things from DC, Geoff Johns and WB team! Exciting year ahead!!

If you don’t know what a “rip-o-matic” is, it’s like a sizzle reel of concept footage, so he is still working on his pitch to Warner Bros. to give them an idea of the movie he wants to make. As McKay says, this is going to be a long process so don’t expect casting updates or big announcements any time soon.

McKay also posted a poll on Twitter, asking fans what they want to see most out of a Nightwing actor. 48% had said that a “badass martial artist” is the most important quality, 21% said “vulnerable, emotional”, 16% said “Romani”, and 15% said “recognizable movie star”.
