Season 3 of Legends of Tomorrow Has Finished Filming

According to Caity Lotz, the actress who plays White Canary on DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, season 3 has officially wrapped up filming.  Nate Heywood actor Nick Zano said that the cast of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow was in the middle of filming season 3 four days ago.  Despite the shows relatively consistent tone of clever, corny humor mixed with serious, heartfelt emotion, the cast has seen quite a few shakeups this season including the departures of Firestorm’s Victor Garber and Franz Drameh.

Legends of Tomorrow finished production a bit later than some of the other CW Superhero shows which was part of the reason it didn’t return from its midseason haitus until recently.  It also returned later because CW did not want five superhero shows airing at once and therefore slotted Legends of Tomorrow to share a timeslot with Supergirl.  This decision was met with a lot of controversy from fans who started a petition against it.

Season 3 will continue its casting shakeups throughout the season as Matt Ryan returns as Constantine and Keiynan Lonsdale joins the show as a series regular playing Wally West from The Flash.  Matt Ryan has made such a big name for himself playing Constantine that fans are hoping he will become a series regular on the show during or after the Legends’ quest to fight the monstrous demon Mallus.

Mark Pedowitz, President of the CW, announced in January that he was very “confident” the Arrowverse shows will be renewed by the CW, but many fear that Legends of Tomorrow is vulnerable because its ratings are still even with season 2’s despite strong episodes, the “Crisis on Earth X” crossover, and the end of two major characters on the show.

One will still have to wait to know the fate of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, but the rest of season 3 is sure to have a lot in store. Legends of Tomorrow airs Mondays at 8:00 P.M. EST on the CW.
