The long awaited “Flash War” storyline is set to debut in a few weeks in the pages of The Flash and its carrying ramifications, teased by DC creators, to have long lasting impact on the DC Universe. Writers Joshua Williamson and Tom King have said as much and now there are new tweets from the pair that have fans wondering about what will happen when Barry Allen (Flash) and Wally West (other Flash) are at odds with each other.

Ever since it was announced at 2017 New York Comic Con, ‘Flash War’ has been on the minds of the DC Faithful for months and now we have a few more pieces of the puzzle. Tom King sent out a tweet recently hyping up the story line and touts himself as very knowledgeable on the subject for obvious reasons. Take a look:

As you can see, King knows because he has to incorporated the events from Flash War into his own upcoming writings. If that’s not enough, writer Joshua Williamson tweeted his own preview by revealing the cover of Flash #49 drawn by Howard Porter with color by HiFi:

By the look of the cover, it seems as though the fight between Barry Allen and Wally West has the attention of the heavy-hitters in the DC Universe but why the Justice League would be involved is unknown at this point.

‘Flash War’ has been hinted at in recent months ever since Wally West regained memories that were once lost to him during the events of The Flash #45. The repercussions of these long lost memories could lead West to take a very drastic course of action.

CBR touched on some of these theories too. Is it possible that West might attempt to ‘fix’ things in the same way Allen did in Flashpoint? There is also the lingering effects of Dr. Manhattan’s actions from Rebirth that could be having an effect on West as well. Looks like we are going to have to wait and see.
