Snyder’s Original 5-Film Plan Was Meant To Resolve Our Heroes’ Story Arcs

When Justice League came out last year, it served as an ending to Zack Snyder’s DC trilogy.  But it seems he had more planned than just a 3-film arc.  In fact, his original plan was a 5-film story which was meant to be more satisfying than what we inevitably got, and was meant to resolve the arcs of our heroes.

In this series we got Man of Steel, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and Justice League.  Initially, Justice League was meant to be a 2-part film, starting with Steppenwolf and then set to introduce Darkseid, but unfortunately that didn’t happen.  But what many didn’t know was that a fifth film was being planned to wrap up this arc of stories about DC’s greatest heroes.

Recently, a fan asked DCEU storyboard artist Jay Oliva to elaborate on that original 5-movie plan. “I cannot go into any specifics,” Oliva explained on Twitter. “But it was epic, grand, emotional, joyful and unforgettable….”

Oliva also confirmed that this fifth film was meant to resolve everyone’s arc:

Snyder himself even revealed recently that he put a Justice League 2 easter egg in Batman v Superman. Unfortunately, that’ll never pay off now.

Would you have liked to seen a Zack Snyder-led 5-film arc for these heroes?  Let me know in the comments, and be sure to check out Aquaman in theaters this December!
