SYFY has officially released the first teaser to Season 2 of the Superman prequel series, Krypton. In the teaser we are given a message to take with us into the next season: The symbol we have come to know is no more.

Check out the full teaser below:

Krypton is SYFY’s most-watched debut season since 2014 and the most-watched season for any scripted series on the network since 2015’s Defiance.  The series has averaged about 1.8 million viewers a week, breaking records for the network.

Set two generations before the destruction of the legendary Man of Steel’s home planet, Krypton follows Superman’s grandfather, Seg-El (played by Cameron Cuffe) — whose House of El was ostracized and shamed — as he fights to redeem his family’s honor and save his beloved world from chaos.

The Seg-El name is both a nod to Superman co-creator Jerry Siegel and a reference to John Byrne’s 1980s miniseries, “The World of Krypton.”

Krypton stars Cameron Cuffe, Georgina Campbell, Elliot Cowan, Ann Ogbomo, Rasmus Hardiker, Wallis Day, Aaron Pierre, Ian McElhinney, and Shaun Sipos.

Krypton will return in 2019.
