Fans have been waiting for a while to see what Joaquin Phoenix would look like as The Joker, and even though we’ll still have to wait a little bit for the final look, director Todd Phillips did take to Instagram to share a photo of Phoenix as Arthur Fleck (A. Fleck… Affleck… coincidence?), his pre-Joker identity. Check it out below:
There is also some paparazzi footage floating around right now of a scene from the film being shot. It’s a 2 minute clip that shows Phoenix as Arthur walking downtown, spitting on a door, and confronting a man in clown makeup.
Joker is slated to hit theaters on October 4, 2019.
