DC Universe’s upcoming Stargirl series has cast actress Anjelika Washington (Runaways), but her role is being kept a mystery for now. The only clue comes from Geoff Johns himself, who says that Washington will be playing a character “familiar to DC Comics fans.”
According to the series’ official description, Stargirl will inspire “an unlikely group of young heroes to stop the villains of the past.” Could Washington be playing a member of the new Justice Society? Right now, all fans can do is speculate.
The only other casting known at this time is Brec Bassinger in the title role. Stargirl is expected to debut on the streaming service sometime in 2019.
