For fans of Wonder Woman who felt that Lynda Carter – the woman who embodied the role of Princess Diana on CBS during the 1970s – should have been granted a cameo in the first film, they may get their wish.

In an interview with NBC Today, the woman synonymous with the Amazonian Princess, as the late Christopher Reeve is to Superman, stated: “That is up to Patty Jenkins. She’s given me some hints about it and I guess it’s up to Warner Bros. if they want to spend the money. [It] is up to Patty, and if it works in an organic way it’ll be great fun and it’ll be wonderful to do.”

Details about the sequel to the 2017 blockbuster have been sketchy, but aside from the returning Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Kristen Wiig has been confimed as Diana’s arch-nemesis Barbara Ann Minerva aka The Cheetah. Further, there is speculation of it being another period piece set in the 1980s and – despite his death in the first film – Chris Pine’s Steve Trevor may reappear.

Wonder Woman 2 will premiere in theaters December 13, 2019.
