Wally West Will Return For A Pivotal Episode Of The Flash

Despite “Crisis on Infinite Earths” having been packed to the brim with guest stars, one glaring omission in the eyes of many fans was that of Kid Flash. For several seasons, Keiynan Lonsdale brought Wally West to life on both The Flash and Legends of Tomorrow. One would think a characters such as his would’ve been included, but then again, the producers can pay only so many actors to appear and there’s the availability of Lonsdale himself to also consider.

Before I continue, I’ll beat you to the punch by saying that Wally did appear in a tie-in comic, but those Crisis on Infinite Earths 100-page Giants couldn’t exactly be considered canonical. After all, they contradicted the prime time crossover itself in more ways than I’d care to count, so let’s move on, shall we?

On the plus side, Wally will be stopping by Central City in the very near future, as showrunner Eric Wallace told TV Line the following:

“How do I say this without spoilers….. Wally returns for one of the pivotal episodes in the mythology of The Flash, and that is not an understatement. He comes back a changed person, and what he comes back to deal with, and how it involves Barry, will literally change the two of them — and their abilities, quite frankly — moving forward.”

I can only fathom what this could mean for this status quo, so I’m not going to lob wild theories at you. Perhaps it’s best we fall back on our comic books for hints of what may be, but I’m more inclined just to sit back and enjoy the ride.

In my view, season 6 hasn’t been all that great, but it hasn’t exactly been all that bad, either. Perhaps “Crisis” will give the show the needed shot in the arm, just as it did Supergirl. Fingers crossed a Batwoman-esque turn in quality isn’t in the cards, as I believe that particular show is becoming unwatchable.

The Flash airs on Tuesday nights on The CW.
