Dan DiDio To Teach At The Kubert School

Many have wondered about Dan DiDio’s future plans following his departure as DC co-publisher, and now we know at least one stop on his new professional path: the Kubert School. DiDio is the school’s newest faculty member; his first class, “From Concept to Sale,” will begin online October 1.

DiDio said in the announcement:

“As a long time fan and supporter of the Kubert School, I’m excited to be involved and contributing to their online program.”

The official description of the course reads as follows:

“In the course, he will show you how to develop and present your ideas for a character, book, or series, to publishers or other media outlets. During these weekly sessions, you will discuss and work towards constructing a series bible and a story concept pitch that will generate opportunities in a crowded marketplace.”

Kubert School president Anthony Marques had this to say:

“We are overjoyed to welcome Dan into our online studies faculty. He is someone who needs no introduction and who has been an integral part of the comics industry for years. The knowledge and passion that he brings to a project is second to none.”

Other courses beginning October 1 are:

  • ‘Storyboards’ by animation director Abe Audish (Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon)
  • ‘Basic Drawing’ by artist Emma Kubert (Ink Blot)
  • ‘Basic Drawing II’ by artist David Williams (Batman: The Animated Series, X-Force)
  • ‘Narrative Art’ by artist Moritat (All-Star Western, The Spirit)

From alternating Batman & Green Lantern as childhood Halloween costumes, to getting punched in my adolescent heart by Love & Rockets, to playing convention sidekick to the legendary Len Wein, the comics medium and characters feel like a part of my DNA.
