Continuing the year-long celebration of Batman’s 75th anniversary, DC Comics has decided to release twenty-one variant covers this July, all of which will feature the Dark Knight himself.  These covers will be done by a number of different artists, including Jim Steranko, Kevin Nowlan, Klaus Janson, Walt Simonson, Graham Nolan, Cliff Chiang, Sean Murphy, Dave Johnson, Dan Jurgens, Mike Kaluta, and many more.

This is the latest in a series of monthly themed variant covers, including MAD, Robot Chicken, Steampunk, and Scribblenauts variant months. Â It has been a real treat for die-hard collectors of variants and of these specific themes. Â I can’t wait to see what other monthly themed variant covers DC will put out this year.
Now, don’t worry readers, you will still have the opportunity to purchase your favorite comics, or try out some new ones, with their own normal covers. Â However, seeing as it is the year of the bat, why not go a little crazy and pick up both versions, one for your main collection, and one to say thank you to a character that helped pushed comics into the mainstream, making them cool again.

With such a diverse variety of titles participating in this unique celebration, DC Comics is bound to convince some Batman fans to pick a copy of something they may not have normally chose to read, and turn them into a life long fan, expanding the fan base of these titles, while, at the same time, opening up people to something new.
