Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice production continues filming in Detroit, while also building a fictional location set to be used in the film, plus a plethora of updates regarding the film ahead.
Last week, DC Comics News reported how a fan’s graffiti  in a train station ended up included in the set photos of the film. This week we just found out the filming continues on Detroit, including the Michigan Central Station.
The film crew is setting up and building a fictional location (or at least a section of a location) which appears to be a fake wall and a fake chimney. The construction is taking place in Brush Park, one of the oldest neighborhoods in the city.  According to the photos from the set, the crew apparently plans to use the Ransom Gillis home for the film.
The Ransom Gillis House is an abandoned single-family home located at 205 Alfred Street (coincidentially) in Midtown Detroit, Michigan, within the Brush Park district. It was designed by Henry T. Brush and George D. Mason, and built between 1876 and 1878. The structure, unoccupied since the mid-1960s, was “mothballed” by the City of Detroit in 2005/2006, in hopes of restoration in the future.
That future seems to be now, as the crew will be restoring part of the location by attaching said wall and chimney to the house.
Thanks to photos shared via Instagram, and other photos shared via Twitter by Tim Malin and Tim Reinman, we can take a look at the set, take a peek below:
Filming will soon take place in Illinois, in the Yorkville location, for the scenes including the Kent Farm.
Aside for the filming, casting is also taking place in Michigan, recently a casting notice was released for the film. Â We reported Momoa hinted at playing Aquaman, but the casting notice just confirmed that news. Â It reads as follows:
Casting “Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice,” a Warner Bros. feature film starring Henry Cavill as Superman, Ben Affleck as Batman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Jason Momoa as Aquaman, and Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor. The plot for this sequel to “Men Of Steel,” is rumored to involved Batman holding Superman accountable for the Kryptonian attack on Metropolis.
Also, Harry Lennix, who portrayed General Swanwick in 2013’s Man of Steel, revealed during an interview with Moviefone some details about the next film in the DC Cinematic Universe and that it will indeed please fans of the fan-favorite masterpiece from Frank Miller.
Anybody who’s a fan of the ’86 graphic novel “The Dark Knight Returns,” I think will be well pleased by that. This is a historic event. Clearly, Zack Snyder is on the cutting edge of directing movies of this scope and scale. I think you can depend on the acting — you’ve got Amy Adams, of course. You’ve got Henry [Cavill]. I don’t think there are any surprises with regard to that. What will happen remains to be seen. I’d probably wind up in a box some place. – Stated Lennix when asked about the film.
Directed by Zack Snyder, Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice is set to be released on March 25, 2016 in 3D in theaters everywhere, starring Henry Cavill as Clark Kent/Superman and Ben Affleck as Bruce Wayne/Batman, also starring Gal Gadot, Jesse Eisenberg, Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne and more.
