DC is in a legal battle with the Spanish city of Valencia over a logo the city has had on their stadium since the year 1919, which oddly enough looks similarly shaped like the logo of one of DC’s most popular superheroes. DC is claiming that the logo looks too similar to the Batman emblem, despite the fact the Spanish symbol predates Batman by 20 years. BBC Sport revealed documents from DC to the trademark bosses at La Liga sports stadium in Valencia that were first issued in May of 2013. The origin of the bat on the city’s crest dates back to the 13th Century, when, according to legend, a bat landed on the flag of James I when he retook Valencia from the Moors. It is unclear when the two sides will reach a settlement in the dispute.
