This should definitely pique the curiosity of many a fan: Dean Cain and Helen Slater, both of whom are certainly no stranger to the Superman universe, have joined the cast of CBS’ Supergirl pilot. Their roles are top secret, so that should fuel much speculation.
Dean Cain is no doubt most recognizable as Superman from the TV show Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, with Slater having played the title role in the Supergirl major motion picture. Both also played key guest roles on Smallville; Cain was Curtis Knox (totally not Vandal Savage) and Slater was Lara-El, Superman’s biological mother.
They will join Melissa Benoist as Kara/ Supergirl,  Chyler Leigh as Kara’s foster sister Alex, David Harewood as Hank Henshaw, Calista Flockhart as Cat Grant and Mehcad Brooks as Jimmy Olsen.
