CBS adds Leigh and Harewood to the Supergirl cast!
Chyler Leigh (Grey’s Anatomy) and David Harewood (Homeland) have been cast in the CBS pilot Supergirl. They will join series star Melissa Benoist , Mehcad Brooks who will play Jimmy Olsen and the recently casted Calista Flockhart who will take on the role of Cat Grant. Additionally, Arrow and The Flash’s Andrew Kreisberg has joined Greg Berlanti and Ali Adler as a writer and executive producer. The pilot will be written by Greg Berlanti, Ali Adler and Andrew Kreisberg.
The series will center on Kara Zor-El (Benoist) who arrives on Earth. She is adopted by the Danvers family. Growing up Kara learns to hide her powers and abilities from the outside world, much like her cousin, Superman. But now at the age of 24, she decides to emerge from the shadows and become the hero she was always meant to be!
Leigh takes on the role of Kara’s foster sister Alexandra “Alex” Danvers. Intrigued by Kara’s abilities at a young age, Alex developed an obsession with science which inspires her to become a doctor. ( I think I see where this is going!)
Harewood plays Hank Henshaw, a onetime CIA agent who now runs the Department of Extra-Normal Operations (DEO), which tracks extraterrestrial threats on the planet Earth. Will Henshaw become Cyborg Superman? I guess we’ll have to wait and see!
With the DEO in the mix, could we see Director Bones, Manhunter (Kate Spencer) and maybe even Project Cadmus? Other characters I would like to see making appearances on this show are Bizarro-Supergirl (Alex trying to replicate Kara), Silver Banshee, Parasite, Brainiac, Maxima, Agent Liberty, Ambush Bug, Arion, Manchester Black, Natasha Irons and Knockout to name a few!
So, which heroes or villains would you like to see appear? Sound off in the comments section below!
