With Suicide Squad currently in production and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice in post, fans are naturally excited for the other films in Warner Bros.’ extended slate of DC Cinematic Universe films to be released all the way through 2020. In the latest issue of Empire magazine, a portion of their Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice cover story covers the upcoming lineup of films for the DC Cinematic Universe, including the Wonder Woman solo film and the Justice League film.
We now know for certain that the Wonder Woman solo film, which will star Gal Gadot and Chris Pine and be directed by Patty Jenkins, will film in London this fall. And the Justice League, which is written by Batman v Superman screenwriter Chris Terrio and will be directed by Zack Snyder, will start filming in spring of next year.
“Logistically it is staggering. As Batman V Superman gains its coat of special effects, and the various stages of editing, scoring, grading and sound mixing are completed, Deborah Snyder, along with Roven, is watching over a sandbox that stretches around the world. Jenkins is in London prepping Wonder Woman, which will shoot there this autumn. Suicide Squad, already well underway in Toronto under the earthy gaze of Ayer, will shoot through to September. “I do watch the dailies,” she promises, enthusing about the film’s “street quality.” They are already doing soft prep for the Justice League, which will begin shooting in the spring, and overseeing the script for Aquaman, which James Wan will direct.” – Via @Steele131
So there you have it. Wonder Woman will begin filming in London in autumn of this year and is scheduled to arrive in movie theaters in June 23, 2017. Justice League Part One will begin filming in spring of next year and will arrive in movie theaters November 12, 2017 and will be followed by Justice League Part Two on June 16, 2019.
