Dale “Batman” Earnhardt Jr. vs Jimmie “Superman” Johnson

The partnership between Warner Bros. Consumer Products and 11-time NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champions Hendrick Motorsports isn’t new. In the past, the two organizations have presented paint schemes based on the DC Comics Justice League and The Harry Potter franchise.

But this racing season, to promote the upcoming and highly anticipated Warner Bros. Pictures and DC Films Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, two special paint schemes will be featured for the cars driven by Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Jimmie Johnson. Batman will be represented on Earnhardt’s No. 88 Nationwide Batman Chevrolet SS and Superman will be featured on Johnson’s No. 48 Lowe’s Superman Chevrolet SS when the teammates square off during the March 20 race in Fontana, California at the Auto Club 400.

The Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice paint schemes were co-developed by Warner Bros. Consumer Products and Hendrick Motorsports. Earnhardt’s paint scheme will feature the Batman emblem and textures of the Dark Knight’s suit, while Johnson’s car will showcase the iconic S-shield and Superman suit textures. Also, Earnhardt and Johnson will wear custom-designed fire suits during the race weekend that feature the respective Batman v Superman logos.

The race takes place just 5 days before the premiere of the film that kicks off the DC Extended Universe. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice premieres in US theaters on March 25, 2016.
