When the Justice League can’t handle a string of crimes plaguing the citizens of Metropolis, they have no choice but to bring in a new team of heroes ready to take on the impossible in the latest animated feature Justice League Dark.
The next and perhaps most eagerly anticipated animated film from the DC Universe Original Movies is Justice League Dark and it continues to generate enthusiasm among fans like no other release that’s come before — and we’ve got a new clip (see below) to share! Why is everyone so entranced by this installment? Well perhaps because it brings out of the shadows and casts the spotlight on side of the DC Universe that doesn’t always get the attention that it deserves…
The worlds of magic will be the centrifugal focus of Justice League Dark and takes its inspiration from the same monthly title that launched at the beginning of The New 52 reboot that brought together John Constantine, Zatanna, and Deadman under a one banner. The Justice League Dark figured prominently during the “Trinity War” crossover that ultimately unleashed the threat of the Crime Syndicate on the planet.
In the animated feature set for wide release on Blu-ray, DVD and Digital HD on February 7, 2017 the Justice League including some new faces assembled among them are seen sitting around the meeting table in the new clip, find themselves facing a new threat, one that may well be out of their depths. Batman reluctantly turns to the Hellblazer, John Constantine voiced by Matt Ryan, who has come to embody the mage since appearing in the now cancelled television series Constantine.
The desire for more John Constantine appears relevant since the character with Ryan again in the role appeared on an episode of The CW action series Arrow and recently announcements were made that Constantine will return starring in his own CW Seed animated series. Resurrected from the ashes! In Justice League Dark Ryan’s Constantine will be put in charge of a special league which will include Zatanna, Deadman, Swamp Thing and Etrigan the Demon.
When no other heroes will do, it’s time to go “dark”! Justice League Dark continues evolving the established DC Universe Original Movies continuity that began with Justice League War adapted from the relaunched title “Justice League: Origins” written by Geoff Johns that brought the Justice League together “for the first time” (again).
