New info has surfaced on the big Arrowverse crossover coming later this fall. We now know it will be called “Crisis on Earth X”. Our heroes from Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow gather to celebrate the marriage of Barry and Iris. Of course things don’t go as planned and the villains of Earth X attack. Marc Guggenheim and Adrew Kreisberg had this to say in a statement:
“We conceived this year’s crossover to be evocative of the annual Justice League/Justice Society crossovers we grew up with and looked forward to as kids,”
To promote the crossover comics legend Phil Jimenez was commissioned to create a custom cover for the event. And by looking at the artwork we can get some clues about what we might be in for. It looks like the heroes will face off against their evil selves.
The producer had this to add:
“Phil was the perfect choice to bring the comic book cover iteration of this idea to life. You can count on one hand the number of artists who could compellingly represent so many characters in a single image. Phil is one of them. And his design invokes the cover of Justice League #207, which was the 20th Annual JLA/JSA crossover. Our 10-year-old selves are in heaven,”
DC character The Ray will also make his live action debut (after being seen on CW Seed’s upcoming Freedom Fighters: The Ray animated series), being played by Quantico star Russell Tovey, and it looks like Captain Cold will be returning as well.
The four-way crossover will air across two nights — Monday, Nov. 27 and Tuesday, Nov. 28 on The CW. For this crossover event, Arrow will air on a special night, Monday at 9 p.m. ET following Supergirl, while the other DC shows will remain in their regularly scheduled time periods.
