Jim Lee and Friends panel at NYCC 2024 has so many announcements!
It wouldn’t be a big con if it didn’t have a Jim Lee and Friends panel! This year’s NYCC was no different! Jim Lee and friend’s first guests were Tim Seeley and Mitch Gerads, who are doing Vigilante . And James Gunn will be “Story Consultant!” There’s a 10-page Vigilante story and a 10-page Eagly story written by Rex Ogle, and drawn by Matteo Lolli.
Peacemaker has to leave town, and Vigilante thinks he’s been kidnapped by a villain named Controller. The thing is Controller is “made up in his head.” Both stories take place between Peacemaker Season 1 and Peacemaker Season 2. Peacemaker Presents: The Vigilante / Eagly Double-Feature debuts in January of 2025.
Up next Legendary Comics’ Robert Napton came out to announce Justice League vs. Godzilla vs. Kong 2! The new series will once again by written by Brian Buccellato, with art by Christian Duce. In the new series the Justice League will head to the Monster-verse. “The two big things is we’re going to have some larger Titans,” said Buccellato, A preview of art was shown featuring Killer Croc fighting Kong, and the Suicide Squad fighting Ghidorah, Rodan, and Mothra. Also of note is that Lee Shaw, the Wyatt Russell/Kurt Russell character from Monarch will be teaming up with Lex Luthor.
The next announcement? DC Vertigo is back as an imprint!!! Nice House on the Lake and the sequel Nice House by the Sea by James Tynion IV and Álvaro Martínez Bueno will be the first titles getting rebranded Vertigo. Tynion IV came on stage to talk about what the imprint meant to him. “Vertigo has been just a huge part of my life. It’s the biggest reason I wanted to create comics… Reading The Sandman in high school, I realized comics can be anything… It unlocked my mind, and set my feet on the path that led me here.”
Next up was Jeph Loeb, who was happy to announce a new Hush story! There will a four-page prelude to the Return of Hush from Loeb and Jim Lee in Justice League Unlimited #1, leading into a brand new Hush story that will begin in Batman #158. The story will also see the return of Scott Williams and Alex Sinclair. It will run six issues starting in March 2025. Then it will come back later with another six issues that will “resolve the Hush saga once and for all,”

All in all another great Jim Lee panel!
