Summary

Superman & Lois 4×04: The Kents struggle to adjust to their new normal; Lois helps throw Kyle and Chrissy an impromptu wedding that doesn’t go as planned.

Positives

I must admit, I was excited for the announcement of Kyle and Chrissy’s wedding. Although, I felt that it was rushed, I believe that, with this being the final season of Superman & Lois, the writers are just trying to find all of the supporting characters some closure. I really feel good about Kyle finally getting to make things right within his own life. Through Kyle’s personal mistakes, we’ve seen some real character growth with him, and the bond between him and his daughter, Sarah, seems to be stronger than ever. There are still some obstacles in the way of this union, however. Primarily, Chrissy’s own mother who feels that this wedding is unnecessary and rushed.

Negatives

The excitement of Clark training Jonathan in this episode is almost forgotten about when Clark experiences something similar to a heart attack while flying with his son. Thanks to Sam Lane’s sacrifice, Clark was able to live again with the General’s heart now beating inside of him. However, this seems to have come with some complications. Only time will tell if things will get worse, but as Clark details to Lois and his family the symptoms, things don’t look good. Clark, being the optimist, tries to remain hopeful that things will improve and that his powers will return in full. I think that Lois is scared to think otherwise, especially with Lex Luthor still being free.

Verdict

Superman & Lois 4×04 was a decent episode that basically served as a closure moment for two of our supporting cast, while also highlighting Clark’s condition. It’s amazing that with everything that’s going on between Lois and Clark, they still manage to help their friends when needed. Although the wedding had its issues overall, Kyle and Chrissy made a decision that will benefit not just themselves, but their baby as well.
