Summary

Superman & Lois 4×03: Reeling from failure, Jordan begins to spiral; Jonathan discovers newfound strength; Gen. Lane recruits John Henry and Natalie Irons, before making a choice that will change everything.

Positives

The repercussions of Superman’s death at the hands of Doomsday are still being felt throughout this episode. However, the focus shifts to the relationship that General Sam Lane made with both Clark Kent and Lois Lane, as seen through a series of flashbacks.

We also finally get to see Jonathan get his powers! I was so excited to see this moment and it was definitely one to remember. Jordan, however, doesn’t seem so happy about it, but I’ll get into that later. John Henry Irons and Natalie get recruited by Sam to lead the DEO in finding and stopping Doomsday — a task I think may be impossible for the father and daughter duo.

Negatives

I really disliked Jordan’s attitude in this episode. Feeling disappointed in himself for failing to save his father, he starts to question himself when Jonathan gets his powers. Things don’t get better for him, especially after a visit from Lex Luthor. When Lex plays a recording to Jordan, a shocking confession is made, forcing the teen to confront Lois for answers. I was disappointed in Jordan for doing this, especially knowing that Lex is just seeking to further divide and hurt the Kents.

Verdict

Superman & Lois 4×03 was a good episode, but I really hope that Jordan gets over his failure to save his father. As Lois reminded him, none of this is his fault, it’s all on Lex Luthor. Jonathan already seems to have adjusted to his powers pretty early, and I hope we get to see the super sons in action very soon. Towards the end of the episode, a significant event happens, and I’m sure we’ll see the ramifications of it in the very next episode.
