DC Comics and Marvel Comics are propelling their landmark 2025 crossover initiative into the digital era with the surprise launch of two new digital-first webcomics—each debuting exclusively on their respective subscription platforms and free-to-read for a limited time. Announced on November 12, 2025, the publishers revealed The Flash/Fantastic Four on DC UNIVERSE INFINITE and Thor/Shazam! on Marvel Unlimited, signaling an ambitious new chapter in the evolving collaboration between the two comic book giants.

The rollout builds upon the excitement generated earlier this year by the dual-release event of Batman/Deadpool #1 from DC and Deadpool/Batman #1 from Marvel. Now, the companies are expanding that partnership beyond print with an initiative designed specifically for digital readers—and tailored for vertical-scroll consumption.

The Flash Meets Marvel’s First Family

Leading the charge is The Flash/Fantastic Four, a DC GO! imprint one-shot crafted by writer Jeremy Adams and artist Adrián Gutiérrez, with colors by Romulo Fajardo Jr. The webcomic, available now on DC UNIVERSE INFINITE, throws Barry Allen together with Marvel’s iconic Fantastic Four for a race across time and reality. When Gorilla Grodd threatens to exert mental domination on a multiversal scale, the Scarlet Speedster teams up with the FF to pursue him through the Speed Force, encountering heroes and villains from both universes along the way.

Gutiérrez’s dynamic cover art—also released with the announcement—highlights the high-speed, high-energy tone of the story. True to the DC GO! initiative, this one-shot is optimized for phones and tablets, embracing the vertical-scroll format increasingly favored by digital comics readers.

Thor and Shazam Unite in a Mythic Showdown

Marvel counters DC’s release with its own powerhouse pairing. Thor/Shazam!, a new Infinity Comics one-shot by acclaimed writer Al Ewing and artist Jethro Morales, is likewise available now, exclusively on Marvel Unlimited.

Positioning two of comics’ most mythic figures side by side, the story pits Donald Blake and Billy Batson against a mysterious adversary seeking to steal the fundamental magic of both universes. With both heroes struggling to reclaim their lost powers, the narrative promises a fusion of grandeur, myth, and multiversal stakes—all delivered in the signature Infinity Comics vertical-scroll style.

More Crossovers Coming in 2026

DC and Marvel confirmed that this digital initiative is far from over. Each publisher will release an additional vertical-scroll crossover webcomic in 2026, though details remain under wraps. Teasers and updates are expected to roll out in the coming months.

A 30-Day Subscription Swap for Fans

To mark this new phase of cooperation, DC and Marvel are offering a unique benefit to their U.S. subscribers: a cross-platform free-trial swap. DCUI paid subscribers who are not currently subscribed to Marvel Unlimited will receive a code for a 30-day Marvel Unlimited trial. Likewise, Marvel Unlimited paid subscribers will receive a 30-day DCUI Ultra trial if they are not current DCUI members. Existing subscribers can expect their codes via email, and new readers who subscribe by December 17, 2025, will also qualify. Standard auto-renewal and eligibility terms apply.

Batman/Deadpool #1 Joins DCUI in December

For fans continuing to follow the crossover storyline in print, DC also announced that Batman/Deadpool #1, released physically on November 19, will arrive on DCUI on December 17. This digital availability further intertwines the publishers’ combined narrative slate as both companies blend print and digital storytelling.
