DC and Marvel are continuing their renewed creative partnership with one of the most anticipated crossover releases of the decade. On Wednesday, March 25, 2026, DC will publish Superman/Spider-Man #1, an all-new oversized one-shot that brings the Man of Tomorrow and the Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man together for their first headlining story in years. The release marks the latest entry in the publisher’s multi-year celebration of the 50th anniversary of the original Superman vs. The Amazing Spider-Man crossover from 1976—an event that helped define the modern era of intercompany collaborations.

DC’s Superman/Spider-Man #1 main cover by Jorge Jiménez

The one-shot will retail for $7.99 for the standard edition and $8.99 for open-to-order cardstock variants. A foil version of Jorge Jiménez’s main cover will also be available. Fans who want to secure a copy can preorder now through their local comic shop.

A High-Stakes Story Led by Top-Tier Talent

The headline narrative pairs superstar writer Mark Waid with acclaimed artist Jorge Jiménez for a contemporary collision of journalism, intrigue, and super-powered stakes. The plot follows Clark Kent and Peter Parker as they independently pursue the same mysterious lead. What begins as routine investigative reporting quickly escalates when the two uncover a conspiracy with global ramifications—one involving none other than Brainiac and Doctor Octopus. With both villains entrenched in the plot, Superman and Spider-Man will need every ounce of their experience, power, and resourcefulness to prevent disaster.

Waid and Jiménez’s lead story promises a dynamic blend of character-driven drama and high-energy action—a spiritual successor to the classic crossovers that first thrilled fans five decades ago.

Eight Additional Original Stories Featuring Fan-Favorite Characters

Beyond the main tale, Superman/Spider-Man #1 will include a robust slate of new shorts by some of the most celebrated creators in the industry. Each story brings together characters from both universes in unexpected, inventive scenarios:

  • Tom King and Jim Lee deliver a character-focused piece spotlighting Lois Lane and Mary Jane Watson.

  • Matt Fraction and Steve Lieber reunite Jimmy Olsen with an unlikely counterpart: Carnage.

  • Sean Murphy jumps ahead in time for a meeting between Superboy (of the Legion of Super-Heroes) and Spider-Man 2099.

  • Gail Simone and Belén Ortega craft a dynamic encounter between Power Girl and the Punisher.

  • Christopher Priest and Daniel Sampere explore what happens when Superboy Prime—famously aware of all comic book canon—pays a visit to Spider-Man shortly after he acquires the black suit.

  • Greg Rucka and Nicola Scott stage a high-velocity race between the Daily Planet and Daily Bugle newsrooms.

  • Jeff Lemire and Rafa Sandoval turn back the clock for a touching story about Pa Kent and Uncle Ben, focusing on their shared resilience rather than any mythical showdown.

Together, these stories offer an expansive look at the wider DC-Marvel crossover universe, showcasing tonal variety ranging from heartfelt and humorous to bold and action-driven.

A Massive Roster of Collectible Variant Covers

Collectors will have no shortage of options, as the issue features open-to-order cardstock variants from a star-studded lineup that includes Jim Lee, Scott Williams and Alex Sinclair, Daniel Sampere and Tomeu Morey, Dave Johnson, David Nakayama, Gabriele Dell’Otto, Mikel Janín, Rafael Albuquerque, Stanley “Artgerm” Lau, David Talaski, Arthur Adams, Chrissie Zullo, Josh Middleton, Scott Koblish, Olivier Coipel, Adam Hughes, Mitch Gerads, Jeff Spokes, Evan “Doc” Shaner, J. Scott Campbell, Clayton Crain, Rafael Sandoval, and many more.

Continuing a Multi-Year Celebration

This release follows DC’s Treasury Edition reprints of the original crossovers, arriving in January and February 2026. Together, the reprints and new stories underscore the enduring cultural resonance of both Superman and Spider-Man—heroes who have continuously evolved yet remain timeless symbols of hope and heroism.

With additional crossover titles planned throughout 2026, including Marvel’s Spider-Man/Superman #1 in April, fans can expect even more revelations as DC and Marvel unveil further creative teams and story details in the months ahead.
