Summary
Absolute Batman #11: Bane’s backstory is revealed here in “Abomination: Part 3”! Also, with Batman now free, Bane apparently has his sights set on someone else, someone close to Bruce…
Positives
Bane’s origin is revealed here in this issue! A tale of his father and the attempt to liberate Santa Prisca from evil forces. Bane grows up in this violent world, and his upbringing is almost mirrored to Bruce’s in some ways.
Meanwhile in the present, Batman is still on the run and Bane is the hunter. Now free from Ark M, Batman has to make a plan to take down this monster for good. But the question is how? In this particular iteration of Bane, not only does the Venom give him vast strength, but also increases his thinking capacity and tactical awareness. He surpasses Batman in almost every possible way, and it seems almost impossible to defeat him.
Negatives
I have no complaints about this issue.
Verdict
Overall, I thought Absolute Batman #11 was another great read and a good telling of Bane’s history and upbringing. I won’t ruin it for you, but the encounter between Bane and Batman gets pretty intense–thankfully it comes with a twist. The ending lets us know that the war between Bane and Batman isn’t over as Bane attempts to go after the very people Bruce cares about. I can only imagine what Batman will do once he finds out! Can’t wait for the next issue!
